We are occasionally required to work on-site and may have to close the gallery when this is the case. Please phone first to check we are available. We also close for a Christmas holiday and a summer break.
Parking:
There are large car parks a one minute walk away, on the corner of Sandyford Road and St Mary's Place or at the Civic Centre. We also have a single parking space outside our front door on the street, for customers dropping off or collecting work, however you will need to contact us first to arrange use of the space (please call 0191 261 4465).
Directions:
St Mary's Place is at the top of Northumberland Street, the main shopping street in Newcastle city centre. From Northumberland Street, turn right at Haymarket and we are across the road from the Civic Centre as you approach Northumbria University.
By Car:
From the central motorway A167(M), north or southbound follow signs to Newcastle city centre and Northumbria University. We are next door to Northumbria's City Campus, where there is a car park at the corner of Sandyford Road and St Mary's Place.
From the A1 (south), take the A184, then Redheugh Bridge, following St James Boulevard along to St James Park, then take a right on to Gallowgate. At the end of the road, go left on to the B1307 and follow this road along to the Haymarket Bus Station. Taking a right here will take you on to St Mary's Place, where we are at the end of the street towards Northumbria University.
By Public Transport:
The nearest Metro stop is Haymarket, a very short walk from the Gallery. The Metro travels to the coast and also connects to Newcastle Central Station. Haymarket bus station and Eldon Square bus station are 2 minutes away by following signs for Northumbria University.
On Foot:
From the Haymarket, at the top of Northumberland Street, follow signs for Northumbria University. We are two minutes walk down St Mary's Place on the right hand side.
